A closing ceremony of the NLD Youth Development Training was held at the headquarters of NLD in Bahan Township at 2 p.m. NLD patron U Tin Oo and U Han Thar Myint together with training instructors attended the ceremony and gave speech for the event.

Youth Working Committees formed in Pegu Division

Township level NLD Youth Working Committees were formed in Tharwaddy, Nattalin and Latpadan Township on 18th and 19th September, 2011. NLD youth leaders from the headquarters such as Ko Hla Oo, Ko Myint Htay and Ko Aung Soe, and NLD Pegu Division Organizational Committee member U Kyaw Htay, NLD Tharyarwaddy, Nattalin and Latpadan Township Organizational Committee members and youth members from NLD youth wing attended the meeting held in each township. Youth Working Committees in each township were formed with 14 members in each committee according to its organizational structure.

On 15th September, 2011, NLD youth working committee was formed with 11 members of young people in Kaw Hmu Township with facilitation of Ko Hla Oo and Ko Myint Htay from the headquarters' youth affairs coordinators and U Ba Swe, a member of NLD Rangoon Division Organizational Committee.

Second day of meeting with youths

On 29th June, 2011, the second day of the meeting with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and youth representatives was continued at the headquarters of NLD.

About 297 people including mostly youths from Karen, Mon, Rakhine States and Tanintharyi, Pegu, Irrawaddy and Rangoon Divisions, NLD Central Executive Committee members, youth members from the headquarters attended the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Vice Chairman U Tin Oo and mastered by Ko Aung Soe. Following the opening speech of U Tin Oo, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi made some opening remarks.

Then in the morning session, youth representatives from Karen, Mon, Rakhine Sates and Taninthairi, Pegu and Irrawaddy Divisions discussed about political, socio-economic situation including drug problems, local gambling problems, human trafficking, educational matters and armed conflicts in ethnic areas.
In the afternoon session, youth representatives from Rangoon divisions continued the discussions. Then Daw Aung San Suu Kyi responded the discussions, questions and suggestions of the youth members.

On 28th June, 2011, NLD General Secretary Daw Aung San Suu Kyi met with youths from different States and Divisions on the first day of States and Divisions' Youth Meeting held at the headquarters of NLD. About 73 youth representatives from Kachin, Shan, Chin States and Sagaing, Magwe and Mandalay Divisions attended the meeting.

Opening ceremony was chaired by NLD Vice Chairman U Tin Oo and mastered by Ko Aung Soe from NLD youth. Following some opening remarks made by the Chair of the ceremony, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi gave some introductory remarks.

In the morning session, youth representatives from Kachin, Chin and Shan States and Sagaing, Magwe Division discussed about situation of education and capacity building, and political activities including People's Democracy Network.

In the afternoon session, youth representatives from Magwe and Mandalay continued their discussions. Then Daw Aung San Suu Kyi responded and synthesized the discussions of youths emphasizing importance of the spirit of the Union, a good educational system and positions regarding the formation of the People's Democracy Network and youth's role in it, capacity building for youths and urged the young people to attempt to become mature leaders who can face any challenges.
